Monday, October 22nd - Lowe’s in Owasso Hosts Bedlam BloodOct 22, 2012
Blood donors can show their community and school spirit by donating with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) October 22. Lowe’s is sponsoring a blood drive 2 to 5 pm, in the OBI bloodmobile parked at the store, 12001 E 96th St N, in Owasso.
Each blood donor will receive the choice of a free Oklahoma State University or University of Oklahoma blood donor T-shirt and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the 2012 Bedlam football game.*
Oklahoma Blood Institute is the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America. OBI exclusively provides every drop of blood needed by patients in 144 medical facilities across Oklahoma. Some 24 hospitals in northeast Oklahoma rely solely on donors with
Oklahoma Blood Institute for their patients.
Any donor who wishes to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals - locally, The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis - can forgo the T-shirt. In turn, Oklahoma Blood Institute will make a monetary donation of similar value to The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis. It’s a chance to ‘doubly give’ to local children battling critical health conditions – through the life-saving gift of blood and in support of pediatric medical research and treatment initiatives.
Anyone, 16 years or older**, can typically donate blood. Blood can be given every 56 days. To find out more or make an appointment to donate, call 877-340-8777 or visit www.obi.org.
*Blood donation is voluntary, and no contribution, donation, purchase or payment is necessary to enter prize drawing.
