Five organizations are partnering with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to hold Tulsa-community blood drives to save lives. All healthy adults, 16 and older*, are encouraged to donate blood at one of these five drives:
§ November 27 – OSU College of Medicine, 11am-3pm, Founders Hall Atrium, 1111 W 17th St
§ November 27 – Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, 3-7pm, North Hall Lobby, 700 N Greenwood
§ November 27 – Tulsa Community College-West, 10am-2 pm, Fireplace Lounge, 7505 W 41st St
§ November 29 – Tulsa Community College-Northeast, noon-4pm, Fitness Center, 3727 E Apache
§ November 30 – Warren Clinic, noon-4pm, Boardroom, 6600 S Yale
One blood donation can save as many as three lives and it typically takes only an hour to give blood. This brief act of community service can make a major, life-saving difference.
During November, each blood donor receives the choice of an OBI OSU or OU Bedlam blood donor T-shirt, health screenings and Donor Rewards Points, redeemable at OBI’s online store.
If donors prefer, they can forgo the T-shirts to support the Global Blood Fund. Oklahoma Blood Institute will redirect funds for the shirts to this charity assisting blood centers in developing countries.
Donors with Oklahoma Blood Institute provide every drop of blood needed by patients in more than 140 Oklahoma medical facilities. This includes 27 medical facilities in Tulsa and Northeast Oklahoma.
Appointments are not required but can be made by calling Oklahoma Blood Institute at 877-340-8777 or visiting obi.org.
