Friday, February 8th - National Girl Scout Cookie DayFeb 8, 2013
For the first time, Girl Scouts and media outlets across the country will be celebrating National Girl Scout Cookie Day on February 8 to celebrate the benefits of the Girl Scout Cookie Program for girls and their communities – from goal setting and decision making to money management, people skills, and business ethics. The Girl Scout Cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world, and the girls’ earnings fund important community projects locally. We’ll be sending out a press release and details very soon, but here’s a little about how we’re planning to celebrate in eastern Oklahoma:
#onemorebox – In the spirit of Girl Scouting and helping our neighbors, community, and friends, we’re encouraging our customers to purchase one more box of cookies to donate on February 8. Our customers can gift them in person, or we can help take care of that with our Gift of Caring program. Customers can buy from a Girl Scout in person and their box will be donated to a charity, OR they can also go online to gseok.org and use our Virtual Gift of Caring program to purchase boxes online that will be shipped to soldiers at home and abroad.
Customers who participate are encouraged to snap a quick photo with their box of cookies and post on Facebook or Twitter using #onemorebox and/or #girlscoutcookies. They’ll be part of something much bigger, as Girl Scouts across the country will be posting throughout the day.
